I'm writing this for my mom. She needs help. My Dad passed away not too long ago due to hospital mistakes- which they of course denied when she tried ot sue them for malpractice (they punctured his colon during a temperature reading and he died of sepsis. they later said they had on way of knowing what nurse worked with what beds..bull!) Before he got sick, I moved to New Zealand. I went back to see him before he died. My sister and my brother are still in the USA, but they have utterly betrayed my Mom and taken out credit cards in her name. They ruined her good credit rating and refuse to work with her, or even take her calls. She is all alone,now with bad credit. She is disabled and unable to work. There is no money, and most months she only has about $20 after bills to use for food. All she gets is a little of my Dad's old payment-not nearly enough. she's all alone and I'm far away- and unable tofind a job as a foreigner in a strange country so I cannot help her. She's had a stroke and the doctors said if she has another she won't make it. I can't bear the thought of losing them both! I just know a little bit of cash will help her.

 He was already sick, but unconfirmed. He was diagnosed with tongue and throat cancer, but it was cut out. The clinic then gave him a flu shot while he was undergoing chemo, and he got very ill. He died in the hospital.

"AROUND THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE, 2007, HE WENT TO GET A BIOPSY DONE TO CONFIRM IF HE HAD CANCER. HE DID.
HE GOT SURGERY AROUND THE MIDDLE OF JULY TO REMOVE IT FROM HIS THROAT AND TONGUE. IT WAS SUCCESSFUL AND THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK OR EAT,AND HAD TO USE A TUBE.
IN OCTOBER HE WENT FOR A CHECKUP, AND THE CLINIC GAVE HIM A FLU SHOT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS UNDERGOING CHEMO.NOW I HAVE BEEN TOLD CONFLICTING STORIES-I HAVE HEARD THAT'S OK AND I HAVE HEARD THAT IS A HUGE NO-NO TO GIVE THAT TO PEOPLE GOING THROUGH CHEMO. I BELIEVE THE LATTER. ANYWAYS,HE PASSED OUT,GREW WEAK. HE WENT FROM DRIVING AND FISHING AND BASICALLY BEING NORMAL TO BEDRIDDEN.
I WENT TO SEE HIM IN NOVEMBER AND WATCHED AS HE GREW STEADILY WORSE. BY DECEMBER HE HAD BEEN LIVING IN THE HOSPITAL, I WAS HOPING HE WOULD GET BETTER BUT THINGS LOOKED VERY GRIM-ESPECIALLY AS HE COULD NOT EAT OR HOLD DOWN ANY FOOD, AND HE LOST MORE AND MORE WEIGHT.
THEN,ONE MORNING HE WOKE UP (AT HOME,FINALLY...HE WAS SO HAPPY TO BE GETTING OUT OF THE HOSPITAL HE WAS THANKING EVERYONE AND SMILING LIKE HE HAD NEVER SEEN THE SUN BEFORE. I WAS GLAD HE DID NOT DIE BEFORE FEELING THE SUNLIGHT ON HIS FACE,AT LEAST ONE MORE TIME.) AND COULD NOT FEEL HIS RIGHT LEG. WE HAD TO GO RIGHT BACK TO THE HOSPITAL,WHERE HE WAS TOLD HE WAS PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE IT CUT OFF. I WANTED TO CRY FOR HIM SO BAD. HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN SO ACTIVE AND HAPPY.
WHILE WE WERE AT THE EMERGENCY ROOM,HE SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF HIS BOWELS AND POOPED HIMSELF ABOUT 5 TIMES IN A ROW. FOR SOME REASON HE COULD NOT HOLD IT,WHICH WAS UNLIKE HIM. LATER ON, WE FOUND OUT THAT WHEN THE NURSE HAD TAKEN HIS TEMPERATURE RECTALLY, SHE ACTUALLY PUNCHED A HOLE IN HIS COLON, AND HE WAS LEAKING WASTES INTO HIS STOMACH.
HE ENDED UP HAVING TO GET A COLONOSCOPY, AND THEN AN AMPUTATION.SO IN A MATTER OF A FEW MONTHS HE NOT ONLY LOST THE ABILITY TO EAT OR DRINK, HE ALSO LOST HIS LEG AND ANY INDEPENDENCE HE HAD. OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS HE WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN, HE LOST INTEREST IN LIFE. FINALLY HE TOLD US TO STOP ALL THE TREATMENTS AND TO JUST LET HIM DIE. HE SAID HE HURT TOO MUCH AND HE DIDN'T WANT TO LIVE ANY MORE. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THAT IS LIKE?! WE TRIED TO TALK HIM OUT OF IT AND HE SEEMED TO CHEER UP.
THEN, A FEW DAYS LATER WE GOT A CALL SAYING HE WAS BEING TAKEN TO ANOTHER EMERGENCY ROOM BECAUSE HE COULD NOT BREATHE. WE WAITED FOR THE CALL TO TELL US IT WAS OK TO GO SEE HIM. IT NEVER CAME. WHAT DID COME WAS A CALL SAYING HE DIED INSTEAD. APPARENTLY HIS STOMACH BLEW UP AND HIS HEART STOPPED. THEY WERE UNABLE TO RESTART IT. HE DIED OF SEPSIS BROUGHT ON BY THAT BITCH PUNCTURING HIS COLON. HE DIED ONLY SIX MONTHS AFTER BEING TOLD HE HAD CANCER. HE SHOULD STILL BE ALIVE!!!"
